Pole dance shorts are something you need to put a lot of thought into. It may seem like you could just grab a set of workout shorts and you’d be fine, but this is far from the truth. There are shorts that are specifically made for pole dancers, and you should invest in these.

One of the first things that makes pole dance shorts special is that they are very short. This is to expose as much of the thigh as possible, making it easier to climb the pole and hang onto it. Longer short will slide on the pole and make it difficult to climb. If you are just starting out this is fine, but once you are getting into advanced tricks your bottoms need to be as short as possible.

But you also need to get shorts that are made to keep you covered. A lot of workout shorts aren’t made for the kind of moves that you do while pole dancing, and will cause indecent exposure during certain moves. This is a problem for obvious reasons. Also, if your shorts ride up, dancing will be much less enjoyable.

The best way to know that you are getting good pole dance shorts is to buy ones that are made for pole dancers, preferably by pole dancers. There are a few good companies like this, and their dancewear is widely varied. You can often buy entire outfits made by these companies.

There are also different styles available, so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding something that you like. Some shorts cover more than others, particularly in the back, so you can choose a set that will work well with your shape. You can also choose between very plain shorts and those that are a little decorative. Some have gathered sides, or a v-top, giving them even more of a shaping effect. Others have words or graphics on them. Since pole dancing has such an “attitude” as far as workouts go, it makes sense that pole dance shorts would reflect that.

Of course, you can also find shorts that are much more decorative and can be used for performances or entertaining. Bright or metallic fabrics are popular for these, along with belts and additions like sparkles that add something extra to them.
