Dance clothing varies depending on the type of dance that is being performed. For women clothing might be a leotard or bra top. While a man’s clothing might be a Capri pant or shorts.

Dance clothing for children is often similar to men’s and women’s clothing. Little girls wear tutus and leotards for ballet. But little boys usually wear stretch pants and leotards.

Some dance clothing is chosen by the dancer. But for performances the clothing may be picked by a designer or a director. This clothing is usually picked specifically for a type of dance or a particular character.
