Dance Leggings Dance bottoms are an integral part of dancewear. Most dancers like to have a variety of dance clothing on hand. Just as runners may choose to wear shorts in winter and running tights in summer, dancers also like options for their rehearsals.

The fabric content of dance clothes is important. Stretchy blends are preferred, such as combinations of cotton, Spandex, polyester or Lycra. The give to these blends gives the dancer full range of motion and the ability to stretch to their body’s limit.

The bottom parts of rehearsal dancewear include short shorts, bike shorts, capris, dance tights, skirts and yoga pants. Costumes for dance shows often include some of these in varying colors and fabrics. Many dancers prefer to wear an under layer of a nude unitard or leotard under their dance costumes, providing modesty and coverage for backstage costume changes.
